Martin Milan Šimečka

A book about running, (hard) life and most of all about love.

The past is influencing today and tomorrow, in comebacks to the past can be the wisdom of the future. It is true also for the literary return even though they do not reach deep into the depths of the time. One of those is this book consisting of three short novels by Martin M. Šimečka. In the eighties they were self-published all, behind the back of the regime and in the nineties then officially in a book. Stories about love (and hate) between a man and a woman, about love (and hate) between the body and the soul, about hate (and not love) between the man and the totalitarian state from the era when fall of the great wall was not even a dream, when some were more equal than the others and when a life was not belonging to a man or God but to the communists.
