Inside Information

Eškol Nevo

The latest novel by one of Israel's most important contemporary writers contains three interconnected stories that explore the different positions and forms of love at the wrong time and in the wrong place.

In the first, an Israeli couple's honeymoon in South America turns into a nightmare. In the second story, an elderly doctor feels a strong and inexplicable urge to protect a young intern at the hospital. And in the third story, a married couple goes for a regular Saturday walk in the orchard. But when the man walks into the trees, he disappears.

Immediately after the release, the critics described the sequence of events as Eškol Neva's most complex and surprising work to date. In each of the three stories, the author reveals the strange fates of the characters through several narrators, keeps the reader in suspense and gradually uncovers the layers of the story.
