Ján Langoš. The guardian of memory

Alexander Balogh

The book shows us Ján Langoš's civil profile based on the storytelling of his family and friends. It is composed of two different storylines - author's conversation with Langoš's wife Gabriela and meetings with around twenty people important for Langoš. The prologue is written by Martin M. Šimečka and the final pages of the book offer us a great amount of photographs and two monological texts by Langoš's daughters. Even though the author and the respondents do not avoid the key life events of this dissident and politician, the book is not an investigative work and it's aim is not to become a historiographical nor political science publication.
