Judith Hermann was born in 1970 in Berlin. She is one of the most famous German authors of her generation. She made her debut with the collection of short stories Sommerhaus, später (1998) (Summer house, later - Artforum 2023). This was followed by the short story collections Nichts als Gespenster (2003) (Nothing but Ghosts - SSS Publishing House 2007), Alice (2009), Lettipark (2016) and the novels Aller Liebe Anfang (2014) and Daheim (2021) (Home - Artforum 2021). She presented her latest book, Wir hähten uns alles gesagt, in the summer of 2022 at a prestigious Frankfurt poetry lecture in front of an enchanted audience.

In the center of Judith Hermann's prose work are mainly young people and their modern lifestyles, complex relationships, urban solitude, lost loves. Her heroines and heroes seem to let themselves be carried away by life, they are constantly waiting for something, they want to believe that they still have time left to make a decision and implement their plans, that it is not too late.
