María Elísabet Bragadóttir (born 1993) has a degree in philosophy and has worked as a journalist for an Icelandic daily newspaper and national radio station. Her debut book, a collection of short stories entitled Room in Another World, has earned unanimous praise from critics and readers alike. It was selected as "Discovery of the Year" by the leading Icelandic daily Morgunblaðið, and Icelandic booksellers voted it one of the three best works of fiction of the year. María has moderated discussions at the Reykjavík International Literary Festival and Icelandic Noir, where she has met prominent figures such as Spanish writer Alejandro Palomas and Norwegian writer Vigdis Hjorth. In 2022, she participated as a guest at Authors' Reading Month, the largest literary festival in Central Europe.
